The Grid – Is the Next Internet Revolution Here?

Learn how distributed computing will change the media world

PANEL: Jasper Bouwsma (CH), European Affiliate, Enterprise Development Group // Nick Brook (UK), Professor, CERN // Oleg Podsechin (UK), Director, Ionsquare
MODERATOR: Toke Barter (DK), Co-founder, Radarstation

Imagine a network 10.000 faster than a conventional broadband connection enabling you to send the entire Spielberg collection from New York to Hong Kong in less than two seconds. Imagine merging all the computers connected to the Web into one supercomputer. Imagine the implications of this – existing technology – on the media landscape over the coming decade. With clear, incisive and holistic thinking, this panel will relate first-hand experiences of ‘grid computing’ from CERN, at start-up ventures and big media, giving you insights about the implications of the technology.
