Surveillance, Self-Exposure and Storytelling
Do virtual footprints reveal what people are feeling and looking for?
SPEAKER: Jonathan Harris (US), Artist & Computer Scientist
MODERATOR: Mads Brügger (DK), journalist & studievært, DR
Using concrete examples from the last seven years of his own work, Jonathan Harris will show how espionage and passive observation can be used to reveal honesty and beauty in the everyday lives of normal people. In doing so, he crafts portraits of the human world through secret analysis of our footsteps. Spanning the offline and online worlds, the journey will stretch from the frozen ice of the Arctic and high into the Himalayan Mountains of Bhutan to social networks, blogs, and Internet dating sites.
